If you need help when we are closed

When the surgery is closed an out-of-hours emergency service is provided. This service is commissioned by the Waltham Forest CCG and is based at Whipps Cross Hospital. The service is available from 8pm seven days a week and from 6pm at weekends.

Telephone: 111

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or Call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

In addition, patients may contact the Waltham Forest Enhanced GP Services: Tel. 020 8519 3999.

The telephone line is available to book appointments during the following hours:

  • Weekdays (Mon - Fri) 12 midday to 8pm
  • Weekends (Sat - Sun) 8am to 6pm

Please note:

All appointment sessions are held in the evenings ONLY, between 6.30pm and 8pm at various GP Practices located within the Borough of Waltham Forest.

Your Local Pharmacist

Your local pharmacist will be able to give you free health advice at any time – you don’t need an appointment. They can give prescriptions if necessary for a minor ailment that does not need a doctor. Many pharmacies operate extended hours on a rota basis.

Accident & Emergency

Whatever the day or time, if you or someone else experiences severe chest pain, loss of blood, severe headache, loss of use in one side of the body or suspected broken bones, go to your nearest Accident and Emergency Department (A&E) or call 999. Accident and Emergency Departments are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and can assess serious injuries and provide emergency treatment.

Please do not attend Accident & Emergency or call an ambulance unless it is life threatening.
